Man charged with furnishing drugs

OLD ORCHARD BEACH — A Biddeford man was arrested for allegedly furnishing drugs in a public park.

On Aug. 12, two police officers were on a routine foot patrol in the First Street area near Veterans Memorial Park and observed what appeared to be drug activity in a nearby vehicle, according to a press release from the town.

The two men in the car were asked to come out of the vehicle for questioning. One man fled the scene and was apprehended after a foot chase. The other man, Shane Carr-robida, 29, of Biddeford, was found to be in possession of crack cocaine, according to the press release. Further investigation revealed that Carr-robida was believed to be furnishing drugs, according to the press release.

Carr-robida was charged with aggravated furnishing of scheduled W drugs enhanced by being in a public park, which is a “Drug Free Safe Zone” as well as having an outstanding warrant. Carrrobida was unable to make $6,000 plus cash bail and was transported to York County Sheriff ’s Office, according to the press release.
