Biddeford shuts out Sanford

BIDDEFORD — The Biddeford golf team cruised to a 13-0 win over Sanford Tuesday afternoon.

Carter Burnell led the Tigers with a match-low score of 45, while teammate Ricky Ruck shot a 46 and Logan Magnant a 48.

Jordan D’Alessandro led Sanford with a score of 49.

Massabesic 10.5, Marshwood 2.5

Massabesic was led by Caleb Roy who shot a match-low 41, while teammates Ryan Townsend and Ethan Laverriere shot 46.

Marshwood’s Sean Pride shot a team-low 48 on the day.

Yarmouth 7, Wells 0

Visiting Yarmouth completed a shutout win over Wells at Cape Neddick Country Club Tuesday.

Yarmouth’s Mac Leahy shot a match-low 39 while teammate Nate Dealaman finished close behind at 40.

Shane McNeill led the Warriors, also shooting a 39. Nate Olsen and Keri Allaire finished second at 50.


Wells 3, Lake Region 0

The Wells volleyball team swept Lake Region with scores of 25-10, 25-15 and 25-17.

Kait Schott had another impressive performance for Wells, racking up nine aces, three kills and 26 assists. Alyssa Loukola also added five kills on the day.

Biddeford 3, Marshwood 0

The Tigers continued to cruise, sweeping Marshwood in three sets. Biddeford won 25-14, 25-16 and 25-21. Biddeford improves to 7-1 on the year.

Boy’s Soccer

Thornton Academy 0, Bony Eagle 0

The visiting Scots tied TA in a 0-0 game Tuesday afternoon at Hill Stadium. The Trojans are now 7-0-2 on the year while Bonny Eagle is 1-5-1.

Field Hockey

Gorham 3, Biddeford 1

Despite falling behind 2-0 in the first half, the Tigers continued to battle the Rams but fell 3-1.

Rebekah Guay scored Biddeford’s lone goal on a pass from Hailey Allen in the second half, while goalie Taylor Wildes recorded six saves.

Thornton Academy 7, South Portland 1

The Trojans cruised to a big 7-1 win over South Portland, Tuesday.

TA would jump out to a 4-1 lead in the first half, getting three goals from Taylor Oullette and another from Cat Henaire.

Henaire would later add another goal in the second, as well as two more goals from Ouellette to secure the win.

Issy Capozzi recorded three saves for TA in goal.
