Sanford man dies in Lebanon crash

LEBANON – A Sanford man died early Friday morning after his car went off a bridge on Little River Road and into the water. State Police from Troop A responded to a report of a fatal car crash around 12:40 a.m., according to a press release Maine State Police. Investigators say Jeffrey Brunelle, 32, of Sanford, was traveling east bound at a high rate of speed Little River Road and was attempting to pass several vehicles when he lost control and struck a guardrail on a bridge. His car went off the bridge and landed in water, say police. It is believed that Brunelle was killed instantly. Brunelle was the only person in the vehicle. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash, according to police.
