BIDDEFORD — Thursday night at the Biddeford Arena, the Biddeford High School boys took on St. Dominics in a match that Biddeford snowballed into winning, gathering momentum until they were an unstoppable avalanche of a 7-0 shutout.

It was clear before the close of the second period that Biddeford was on its way to victory. Biddeford had already gained a 2-0 lead in the first period. The initaitor, Brady Crepeau, was assisted by Logan Magnant for the first goal. The second home point was added by the reliable Colin Petit, assisted by Colin Lavigne and Max Mourmouras.

It was early in the second period with twelve minutes remaining on the clock and all the potential in the world on the board when Ricky Ruck, the decider, dropped number three into the net. The snowball effect brought a pick up of the scoring pace, and goal No. 4 followed about two minutes later, Colin Petit’s second, assisted by Curtis Petit to end the second period.

St. Dominics was clearly very agile on the ice and even seemed to have Biddeford beat in short distance speed at times, but Biddeford’s ability to steal and play ring around the goalie,  keeping the puck away from St. Dom’s in their own zone, paid off.

A mere 49 seconds into the third, Colin Petit and Curtis Petit repeated the goal and assist Petit pattern for another point, 5-0. Ruck and Curtis Petit were closing scorers, adding another point each for the power win, 7-0.
