Biddeford powers past Fryeburg Academy

BIDDEFORD — A consistent and strong offensive performance propelled the host Biddeford boys basketball team to a 52-34 win over Fryeburg Academy.

The Tigers outscored Fryeburg in all four quarters, and managed to stay in the playoff picture with an improved record of 6-7.

Biddeford had three double digit scorers on the evening, led by Patrick Pearl with 18 points. Kyle Norton also added 13 points while Carter Edgerton tallied 11 in the win.

Girls Basketball             

OOB 45, PTA 35

The Old Orchard Beach girls basketball team picked up a 45-35 win over Pine Tree Academy, Wednesday

The Seagulls pulled off the suprise upset, as PTA entered the game with a strong 8-3 record and playing on a hot streak as of late. 

OOB was led by Emily Greenlee with 12 points scored, while Meg LaPlante added 10 with seven rebounds. Kaitlin Cote also scored six points and collected 11 rebounds. 

Fryeburg Academy 51, Biddeford 39

The Lady Tigers fell to visiting Fryeburg Academy Wednesday evening.

The Tigers got off to a slow start, falling behind 27-11 by the halftime break. 

Grace Martin led the Tigers with 18 points scored, while Megan Mourmouras added five points as well
