BIDDEFORD -- The Wild rise again to a 3-2 overtime victory against the New England Stars, Sun., Jan. 30, 2017, reviving the team from a 7-1 loss at the Stars' Saturday.

The New England Stars got off to a fast start, scoring both goals in the first period. Gauvin scored in the first 85 seconds, assisted by Paige and Krapian. Krapian came back for a goal before the close of the first, assisted by Paige.

The differences in the Wilds' faces before and after the third period suggest an underdog team with no pretentious airs, tired and rather surprised to win.

Beginning the third period 0-2, the Wild came out aptly named and Gagne put the body in the goal, assisted by Muradov and Busch, in 96 seconds to score and begin a merciless 20 minutes, 2-1.

The Stars, on alert, marked closer, but Muradov, assisted by Erbe and Lambert foiled the defense to score at 6:50, and tie 2-2.

Skating like the ice was lava, the Stars put up a fast and furious front for the remainder of the third period into overtime. Fortunately for the Wild, after the Stars first shot in overtime was stopped, Wild Connor Busch, scored what he calls "that dirty goal," as he said in an interview after the win. Gagne and Muradov, the other two thirds of the scoring trifecta, are credited with assisting the overtime goal.
