York hockey shuts out Kennebunk, 4-0
In Class B South boys hockey, York won 4-0 over Kennebunk, propelling the York boys to second seed in their class, behind Gardiner. York’s record stands at 12-2-0, while Gardiner has played 12-5-0.
Both York and Kennebunk have at least three regular season games scheduled to play in the next week. Kennebunk (No. 3) plays at Cape Elizabeth on Sat., Feb. 18 at 5 p.m.York visits Gorham on Saturday at the University of Southern Maine Ice Arena at 3:10 p.m.
Mob stops Red Riots cold, 4-0
Thursday night was the night of shut-outs, as the Massabesic/Old Orchard Beach/Bonny Eagle boys swept South Portland/Waynflete/Freeport’s Red Riots 4-0 at the Troubh arena. The MOB’s Tyler Oullette sparked the flame in the first period, scoring unassisted. MOB’s Brandon Caron and Tanner McClure both scored in the second period and were assisted by Cameron Goodrich. Wyatt Blanchette closed out the game in the third, Travis Marsh assisted the final goal.
OOB falls to Waynflete, 51-46
In the Class C South boys basketball preliminary round, Old Orachard Beach suffered a narrow defeat to Waynflete, 51-46. Waynflete moves on to the quarter-final round.
