Road work starts in Biddeford on Monday

BIDDEFORD – Drivers need to be aware of traffic delays as a result of paving work opening in Biddeford this week.

Crews will perform a paving operation at two different locations in Biddeford starting Monday morning.

According to officials at Shaw Brothers Construction, one paving location will be at the intersection of Elm Street (U.S. Route 1) and extend north for 0.85 of a mile to Alfred Street ending at the intersection of Alfred and Precourt Streets. 

The other location begins at Fall Street and extends north for 0.44 of a mile to Main Street.

Officials say that motorists will experience slight delays and are advised to use caution when traveling through the work zones.

All paving work at these locations will be completed by the middle of July.

The total cost for these road projects is $779,000.
