Portland Regional Chamber gains new CEO

PORTLAND (AP) — The interim CEO of the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce is taking the job on a permanent basis.

Quincy Hentzel says the chamber is trying to be more inclusive by focusing efforts on small businesses, immigrant-owned businesses and women in the business community.

Hentzel was one of more than 70 applicants for the position, which oversees the day-to-day operations of one of Maine's largest Chambers.

She'd held the post on an interim basis following the resignation of Chris Hall after 27 years in the chamber in different capacities.

She previously worked at Industrium, a public relations/advertising agency and as the director of governmental affairs for the Maine Credit Union League.
