A tremendous honor

LIMINGTON —  College student Sage Williams was provided the opportunity to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Fenway Park during the Boston Red Sox game against the Toronto Blue Jays on Sept. 27.

This opportunity is part of Poland Spring’s sponsorship of the Boston Red Sox.

Williams, who is studying biomedical engineering at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, was one of 18 graduating seniors who received a $1,000 Poland Spring Good Science Scholarship earlier this year.

Good Science Scholarships are awarded annually to Maine high school seniors planning to pursue post-secondary education in life science, physical science, earth science, engineering or environmental science or policy.

Since 2007, Poland Spring has awarded $198,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors in Maine.
