PORTLAND — A new community health clinic designed to serve the city’s low-income and immigrant population is opening today in the Riverton Park housing complex.
The Portland Community Health Center, 59 Riverton Drive, will be operated by the University of New England, partnering with the city of Portland, Portland Housing Authority and the Maine Center for Disease Control – Cumberland Public Health District, according to a news release.
A grand-opening celebration will be held today at the clinic from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The grand opening will include blood-pressure checks, cancer screenings, nutrition education and refreshment.
